The Problem

Every clinic page used the same template, with the clinic name as the heading, a bare list of scan names, a contact block and a form. Nothing told patients how to find the entrance, whether parking was free, what to bring or how bookings worked, and no scan was described beyond its name. Before the new clinic in this case had a page, Google ranked the homepage around 13th to 16th for searches naming the town. In April the clinic was still to open, and its page was a placeholder with only the address filled in, drawing under 100 Google clicks a month.

What I Did

  • Redesigned the template every clinic page uses, with a heading that leads with the service and the town, and booking and directions buttons in the first screen.
  • Added an introduction that names every scan the clinic offers, each linked to its service page, and sections on the main scans, so the page says more than a list of names.
  • Added sections on getting there and bookings, covering the entrance, whether parking is free, wheelchair access, referrals and what to bring.
  • Wrote FAQs for each refreshed clinic, so every page answers its own local questions.
  • Wrote new descriptions and H1s for 153 pages, 135 of them clinic pages, and new titles for 96 of them.
  • Specified the MedicalClinic schema that ties each clinic page to the group.

The clinic page template before and after, with new blocks in green. Before is the archived copy of the new clinic page from 22 April 2026, while the clinic was still to open, and after is the live page in October 2026. On clinics that were already open, the old contact block also listed the phone, opening hours and access.

The template now runs on every clinic page, and the FAQs and scan sections go onto each clinic as it is refreshed.

Visits And Bookings From AI Assistants

Visits from AI assistants rose from 798 to 2,854, comparing April to September 2025 with the same months of 2026. Those visitors made 12.7 booking requests per 100 visits, against 6.9 for visitors from organic search, so each AI visit is worth nearly twice an organic one.

ChatGPT now links to a clinic page in about one answer in four on the searches we track, up from one in twelve in late July, and it repeats opening hours and parking straight from the clinic pages.

How I Measured It

The clinic opened in mid 2026 after a launch campaign on social media. An open clinic draws far more searches than one still to open, so I don't claim the rise in clicks or bookings as the page work alone. Ranking is the cleaner test, and Google moved from the homepage to the clinic page for searches naming the town, at an average position of 2.8 by September.

The new layout went live at the start of May, and clicks nearly doubled in its first week, from about 20 a week in April to 36. They kept climbing to over 200 a week by mid June, before the new metadata went live on 25 June.

AI assistants send more visits to most sites each month, so I judge them by the bookings they bring rather than the visit count. Online booking tracking only started in November 2025, which rules out a booking comparison with the year before.

What I Would Do Next

The new page books at about half the rate of the average clinic page, so the next job is the booking path, starting with a booking button that stays on screen on mobile with the clinic already filled in. After that, I would roll the FAQs and scan sections out to every remaining clinic.
